Notes Privacy Policy
Developer: RB Apps ยท Effective 16 October 2026
Notes ("the app") lets you write notes and checklists, attach photos, organise them with labels and set reminders. This policy explains what the app does with your information. In short: your notes stay on your phone. The developer does not collect, receive, store on any server, or share any of your data. The app has no accounts and no analytics. It is supported by ads from Google AdMob, which is the only part of the app that uses the internet (see “Advertising” below).
What is stored, and where
- Notes, checklists, labels and reminder times are saved in a database inside the app's private storage on your device.
- Photos you attach (from the camera or gallery) are copied into the app's private storage on your device.
- Nothing in your notes is uploaded anywhere by the app. Its only internet use is for ads (see below).
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The app is free and includes ads (a banner and occasional full-screen ads) served by Google AdMob. To choose and measure ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and use device and advertising identifiers (such as the Android advertising ID), your IP address, approximate location derived from it, device model and OS, and how you interact with ads. This data is handled by Google under the Google Privacy Policy; see also How Google uses information from apps that use its services. The developer does not receive it, and your notes are never shared with advertisers.
Where the law requires it (for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland) the app asks for your consent before personalised ads and offers Ad privacy choices in Settings so you can change your answer. Anywhere, you can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalised ads in Android Settings > Privacy > Ads.
Voice input, text from photos and app lock
- Voice input: when you tap the microphone to dictate a note, the app uses Android's speech recognition on your device. Depending on your phone and its settings, the audio may be processed by Google's speech service, under Google's privacy policy. The app does not record or keep the audio, and the developer does not receive it.
- Text from photos: reading text from a picture is done on your device with Google ML Kit; the picture is not uploaded.
- App lock: if you turn it on, the app asks for your fingerprint, face, PIN, pattern or password through Android's own screen. The app never sees your biometric data.
Permissions
- Camera: only when you choose to take a photo for a note. Photos are not sent anywhere.
- Microphone: only while you use voice input.
- Biometrics / screen lock: only if you turn on App lock.
- Internet and network state: to load and show ads.
- Notifications: to show the reminders you set on notes.
- Run at startup: so reminders you already set are scheduled again after you restart your phone or update the app.
Sharing and backups you start yourself
If you use Share on a note or Export backup, the app hands the text (or a backup file) to the app you pick in Android's share sheet. The developer does not see where it goes. What that other app does with it is covered by its own privacy policy. Android may also back up app data to your Google account if you have Android backup turned on in your phone's settings; that is controlled by Android and your Google account, not by this app.
Home-screen widget
The quick-add widget only opens the app to a new note. It does not read or display your note content.
Deleting your data
Delete a note and move it to Trash, then empty the Trash (or wait 30 days, when trashed notes are removed automatically). Uninstalling the app removes all of its data from your device.
Children
The app is a general-purpose tool. It does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If the app's data practices change, this page will be updated and the effective date above will change.
